Light bursts forth
In beautiful array
Color dazzles my eyes
Its movement,
The entire display
captures my attention
And for a while
I am lost in its beauty
Forgetful of all else.
Pleasure and
a feast for the eyes
If only for a moment.
My life should be more like that.

Burdens
Reading the past
Memories flow like a river
Happiness, Joy, Purity
Oh the innocence and faith
Where are you now?
Darkness fills your being
And it drags you down
The weight is too heavy to bear.
Yet you cling to the weight
This weight that drowns
Why won't you let go?
So easy it seems
To let go and float.
Float to the top for air.
Yet the air continues
To burn in your lungs
Your body fights to stay alive
Yet you cling to this deadly weight.
The memories of happiness
Seem so very distant
So very unreachable.
And yet all that remains
is to let go of that weight
that you so desperately cling to.
Memories flow like a river
Happiness, Joy, Purity
Oh the innocence and faith
Where are you now?
Darkness fills your being
And it drags you down
The weight is too heavy to bear.
Yet you cling to the weight
This weight that drowns
Why won't you let go?
So easy it seems
To let go and float.
Float to the top for air.
Yet the air continues
To burn in your lungs
Your body fights to stay alive
Yet you cling to this deadly weight.
The memories of happiness
Seem so very distant
So very unreachable.
And yet all that remains
is to let go of that weight
that you so desperately cling to.

Light
Muscles strain
left weakened
by lack of use
A rare smile
The eyes darken
and lose their spark
Despite that smile.
Enduring forever
in the most unlikely soul
Is hope.
Hope that one day soon
That smile will brighten
These ever fading eyes
And brighten others in return.
left weakened
by lack of use
A rare smile
The eyes darken
and lose their spark
Despite that smile.
Enduring forever
in the most unlikely soul
Is hope.
Hope that one day soon
That smile will brighten
These ever fading eyes
And brighten others in return.

The Man who Haunts my Dreams
Blonde hair, Blue eyes
Typical Romeo
Fallen Juliet
Pride and Prejudice
but maybe I'm the pride
And he's not prejudice
Beauty and the Beast
But the roles confused,
Who's the Beast?
Love stories work out
But my life is anything
But a typical love story.
He comes and goes
And I'm left with
A single tear.
Dreams are many
True life dreams
Are few and far between
Nightmares I plead
to come more often
For better it is to wake
And be happier for it
Than to wake and
Wish to be asleep again.
My love story
I would wish to come
To life from my dreams.
Oh Romeo, do not stay
tangled forever in dreams.
Please come out and
save me from my tragedy.

Poem by An -Aholic
Reports, deadlines,
Notes scatter my desk.
My head in all directions;
Solutions slow to come.
But better to lose
All sense of self
Than focus too much
On your problems.
Service is now my goal.
Better than a workaholic,
Is to become a servaholic.
Charity is my goal.
Lose myself in His work
To find myself
On some future day.
Notes scatter my desk.
My head in all directions;
Solutions slow to come.
But better to lose
All sense of self
Than focus too much
On your problems.
Service is now my goal.
Better than a workaholic,
Is to become a servaholic.
Charity is my goal.
Lose myself in His work
To find myself
On some future day.

For the Birds
The birds chirp loudly
Their conversation fills the air
A gentle breeze lifts their wings
And their silouhuette imprints
Against the clear blue sky.
What are they saying?
What are they fighting about?
What game are they playing?
The trees sway in the wind
Ruffling the birds' home.
Restless they are
Ever since the sun began to shine.
A robin lands close;
Looks at me questioningly.
A black spot in this heavenly scene.
And I wonder how I fit in.
Their conversation fills the air
A gentle breeze lifts their wings
And their silouhuette imprints
Against the clear blue sky.
What are they saying?
What are they fighting about?
What game are they playing?
The trees sway in the wind
Ruffling the birds' home.
Restless they are
Ever since the sun began to shine.
A robin lands close;
Looks at me questioningly.
A black spot in this heavenly scene.
And I wonder how I fit in.

To Act
My life, a broken record
A circle of repeats
A road to nowhere.
Progression halted
Lost in my own mind
Actions impossible
Forever stuck
To stay in this
Rut of indecision.
I choose
I act
I decide
And yet I don't.
A circle of repeats
A road to nowhere.
Progression halted
Lost in my own mind
Actions impossible
Forever stuck
To stay in this
Rut of indecision.
I choose
I act
I decide
And yet I don't.
